Shuttles
All shuttles from the accommodation to the teaching location and back in and around Gutenstein will be provided free of charge for you between 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., except Wednesday, Aug 12 (welcome dinner!) between 9 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. 

Arriving Gutenstein by train
From Vienna you have a train connetion to Gutenstein or Pernitz with a changing of the train in Wr. Neustadt. From the train station Gutenstein or Pernitz you will have a free shuttle from us to your accommodation. Shuttle from and to Vienna City or airport
We offer a shuttle service on Aug 12 in the morning at about 9 a.m.  from Vienna to Gutenstein (costs: € 50.- per person and one way, siblings or student with 1 parent € 75.-) and a shuttle back to Vienna/Vienna Airport on august 17 at about 10.30 or later. Please book your travel accordingly!

  • The place where we offer practicing rooms and where most of the lessons will take place is called “Meierhof”. There we have a big kitchen where students may cook and prepare their individual food (except on the day of the concert).

  • A few meters away there is a supermarket called “Nah und Frisch”. (Monday - Wednesday: 7:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Thursday: 7:15 - 12:15 a.m, Friday: 7:15 - 12:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m, Saturday: 7:15 - 12.00 a.m.)

  • Restaurants in Gutenstein:

Cancellation conditions
In the event of cancellation for whatever reason, the course fee will be refunded till Aug 4, later only if you can provide a substitute participant! Once you have completed the registration process, the registration fee (€ 100.-) will no longer be refunded!

  • Wednesday evening: Welcome dinner for all students of the class Judith Fliedl (Violin), Anna Niemiec (Cello) and Piotr Kosic (Piano) at 6 p.m. at the Meierhof! 

  • Every student receives one individual lesson and one chamber music lesson every day. Further details will be announced soon!

  • Sunday, Aug 16, 2026

      1. 11 a.m.: Chamber Music in the church Mariahilfberg

      2. General rehearsal at the Refektorium Servitenkloster Mariahilfberg, time will be announced by Mrs. Fliedl in cooperation with Piotr Kosic (Piano) and Anna Niemiec
        (Cello) in time.

      3. 4 p.m.: Concert of the violin class Judith Fliedl together with the cello class (Anna Maria Niemiec) and the piano class (Piotr Kosic) at the Refektorium Servitenkloster!

Judith Fliedl is a Vienna-based violinist and is considered one of the most versatile Austrian violinists of her generation. Her artistic and pedagogical focus lies in the breadth of repertoire - from classical literature to contemporary music - and in the close interrelation of solo performance and chamber music as mutually enriching practices.

A multiple prizewinner at national and international competitions, she is active internationally as both a soloist and chamber musician. Her concert activity has taken her to the United States, Canada, Korea, Japan, and numerous European countries. She has appeared at major festivals including the Salzburg Festival, Vienna Festival (Wiener Festwochen), Oxford Chamber Music Festival, Pablo Casals Festival, Maribor Festival, Aurora Festival, Musiktage Mondsee, Carinthian Summer, and impuls Festival Graz, and performs regularly at Vienna’s leading venues such as the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Musikverein Wien.

Chamber music forms a central part of her artistic work. Since 2017, Judith Fliedl has been a member of the co-founded Trio Artio, which was selected as Jeunesse Austria’s first “Featured Ensemble” in the 2019/20 season and served as a cultural ambassador within the New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM) programme from 2020 to 2023.

From 2023 to 2025, she was a resident member of the Klangforum Wien. In the 2025/26 season, she appears as a soloist in the NASOM programme, focusing on contemporary music at national and international festivals.

Alongside her performance career, Judith Fliedl has been working since autumn 2023 as a researcher at the Centre for Artistic Research, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. There she teaches the course “Exploring the Audience as an Interpreter”. Her research focuses on new concert and performance formats, as well as questions of interaction, communication, and presence in both chamber and solo contexts.

As a pedagogue, she regularly gives masterclasses in France, Morocco, Algeria, and the United States. Her teaching emphasises chamber-musical listening, interpretative responsibility, refined sound differentiation, and the integration of classical performance traditions with contemporary techniques.

Judith Fliedl studied violin and chamber music with Igor Ozim and Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg, as well as at the Royal College of Music and Trinity College of Music in London. She also received formative artistic training through her postgraduate studies with the Klangforum Wien. Further artistic impulses came from Pavel Vernikov, Leonidas Kavakos, Eberhard Feltz, Ernst Kovacic, Sophie Schafleitner, and Heinrich Schiff.

She is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the A. e V. Marcosig Competition, Manhattan International Competition, Brahms Competition, Lions Competition, and the Reate Prize. In 2023, she was awarded the Start Scholarship for Music and the Performing Arts by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture, and in 2024 she received the Best Practice Award from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.

Judith Fliedl ist eine in Wien lebende Violinistin, die zu den vielseitigsten österreichischen Geigerinnen ihrer Generation zählt. Ihr künstlerischer und pädagogischer Fokus liegt auf der Vielfalt des Repertoires - von klassischer Literatur bis zu zeitgenössischer Musik - sowie auf der Verbindung von solistischem Spiel und Kammermusik als sich gegenseitig bedingende Praxis.

Als mehrfache Preisträgerin nationaler und internationaler Wettbewerbe ist sie international sowohl solistisch als auch in unterschiedlichsten kammermusikalischen Formationen tätig. Ihre Konzerttätigkeit führte sie u. a. in die USA, nach Kanada, Korea, Japan sowie in zahlreiche europäische Länder. Sie gastierte bei Festivals wie den Salzburger Festspielen, den Wiener Festwochen, dem Oxford Chamber Music Festival, dem Pablo Casals Festival, dem Maribor Festival, dem Aurora Festival, den Musiktagen Mondsee, dem Carinthischen Sommer sowie dem impuls Festival Graz und konzertiert regelmäßig im Wiener Konzerthaus und im Musikverein Wien.

Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt in der Kammermusik. Seit 2017 ist Judith Fliedl Mitglied des von ihr mitbegründeten Trio Artio, das in der Saison 2019/20 als erstes „Featured Ensemble“ der Jeunesse Österreich ausgewählt wurde und von 2020 bis 2023 als Kulturbotschafter*innen Teil des New Austrian Sound of Music (NASOM)-Programms war.

Von 2023 bis 2025 war sie Residenzmitglied des Klangforum Wien. In der Saison 2025/26 tritt sie als Solistin im NASOM-Programm mit Schwerpunkt auf zeitgenössische Musik bei nationalen und internationalen Festivals auf.

Neben ihrer künstlerischen Tätigkeit ist Judith Fliedl seit Herbst 2023 als Forscherin am Zentrum für künstlerische Forschung der Kunstuniversität Graz tätig. Dort unterrichtet sie die Lehrveranstaltung „Als Interpretin das Publikum erforschen“. Inhaltlich befasst sie sich mit neuen Konzert- und Aufführungsformaten sowie mit Fragen der Interaktion, Kommunikation und Präsenz im kammermusikalischen und solistischen Kontext.

Als Pädagogin gibt sie regelmäßig Meisterkurse in Frankreich, Marokko, Algerien und den USA. Im Zentrum ihres Unterrichts stehen kammermusikalisches Hören, interpretatorische Verantwortung, klangliche Differenzierung sowie die Verbindung von klassischer Spieltradition und zeitgenössischen Spielweisen.

Judith Fliedl studierte Violine und Kammermusik bei Igor Ozim und Pierre Amoyal am Mozarteum Salzburg sowie am Royal College of Music und am Trinity College of Music in London. Eine prägende künstlerische Ausbildung erhielt sie zudem im Rahmen ihres postgradualen Studiums beim Klangforum Wien. Sie ist Preisträgerin zahlreicher Wettbewerbe, darunter der A. e V.
